What is Thyristor?

A Thyristor or SCR (silicon controlled rectifier) is bit like a transistor.
When a small current flows into the GATE,
this allows a larger current to flow from the ANODE
to the CATHODE
Even when the current into the gate stops the thyristor continues to
flow current from anode to cathode.
It needs only a small trigger to turn ON.
There are two methods to stops its conduction
1. diverge anode current to other circuit
2. apply negative voltage

Input form User in C++

Today i'll teach you how to get input form user

cin>>    means input form user, now this input should be store in some where after that we print that            input or use some where else

if input is an integer type   we can define as      int
after that any variable where you save your input like i'll save in    a
  as         int a;
 ; means end of command
\n means next line

#include<iostream.h>
void main()
{

int a;
cout<<"enter your input";
cin>>a;
cout<<"your entered\n";
cout<<a;
}

Regulated Power Supply Circuit

Today i'll give you a circuit diagram for regulated power supply which will give regulated DC output
In this circuit we uses a LM317 and LM337 as regulators,LM317 is for regulating a +ive voltage and LM317 is for regulating -ive voltage, in the start of circuit there is a bridge rectifier for converting AC to DC and capacitors to remove ripples.

Here are the components that are used in this circuit:-

Capacitors:
C1, C2 (2200 uF 50V)
C3, C4, C5, C7 (2.2 uF 50V)
C6, C8 (100 uF 50V)

Resistors:
R1, R4 (5K Potentiometer)
R2, R3 (220 Ohms 1/4 W Resistor)

Active Components:
D1 to D4 IN 4007 Diodes
U1 LM317 U2 LM337

T1 (24-0-24 Center Tapped 2 Ampere Transformer)
S1 ( Switch)

Power Distribution System

Today i'll give you complete diagram which will show you about the Power Distribution System.
From power plant there is a Step up transformer which convert generated voltage in to high voltage to reduce losses.
Power plant can be any form hydro,wind,coal,thermal.
After that it is converted into 230KV to supply substation after substation it is converted in to 69KV and then to 11KV, now some industries require 11KV so before further step down of voltage it is supplied to industries, after that 11kV is further step down to 220-240V for houses and other residential areas

Fardays Law

Today i am going to give you intro about faraday's law.
Now what is faraday's law:
It states that rate of change of magnetic flux around a closed path produces emf (electromotive force) in other words voltage.
Now question is what is flux:
When magnetic field lines passed through any area, its called flux.
Changing magnetic flux means increasing or decreasing magnetic fields.
This can be achieved by moving a magnet in to and fro motion to the closed loop or path which causes emf in the coil.

                    EMF=-N*d(&)/dt

N: is the number of turns on the Coil
&: is the flux
-  sign: is due to lenz law

Best example is   Transformer

Solution Manual for B.P Lathi Book

Today i am going to upload a solution manual of Modern Analog and Digital Communication System by B.P Lathi.
I know many of electrical engineering student don't get solution manual from internet of i am gonna upload it.....
This is the best book for learning communication systems, because its in simple language that every one can understand.
So here is the solution manual:-

Electricity from Bacteria !!!!!!

Most bacteria, like all animals, get their energy from the cellular respiration process, which converts glucose and oxygen to carbon dioxide and water. Oxygen accepts electrons as it combines with other chemicals in reactions. But bacteria when underground have no oxygen to breathe. For that they produce energy for their growth by transferring electrons to rust and other surrounding metal oxides.
 Bacteria at the, converting plant and animal debris in the mud into electricity and carbon dioxide. Electrons flow through wires to a cathode sitting in water above the mud, where they combine with oxygen to complete the circuit. The bacteria are highly efficient and can produce electricity continuously for many months or even years.

Ohm's Law

Ohm law is any important law in Electrical Engineering
Ohms law states that
voltage across a resistance is equals top product of current passing through resistance;
Resistance R
Voltage V
current I

Formula:
                               V=IR

if we know any two values like current and voltage we can find other one like resistance........

Light Dark Sensor

This is a light dark sensor, it uses BJT (bipolar junction transistor), LDR (Light dependent resistor), LED (Light emitting diode), and a resistor for biasing BJT, it uses 6V but you can use 9V too because i used a 9V battery.
care should be taken in determining base,emitter and collector for BJT.

In its working, at night resistance of LDR increases and BJT starts conducting but during day its resistance is almost negligible and BJT is in non-conducting state.

C++ a complete guide

Today i am going to upload all the stuff related to C++ including Slides, project that i made when i was in 3rd semester,small programs,a complete guide for beginners

Object oriented programming by Robert Lafore

If you wanna learn Object oriented programming in C++ you can download a book by Robert Lafore from a link given below

http://www.mediafire.com/view/?az91nvqu4wa166o

I learnt alot from this book thats why i prefer this book if you wanna learn Programming.This book clears all the concept of c++.
If  you found some problem or stuck some where comment your query i will guide you, but you should know about basic in C++.

Transformer

Transformer:-

it is an electrical device which step up or step down AC voltage with no change in frequency.
In its construction it contain a core made of ferromagnetic sheets which may be in F, E and I shaped.
Insulated copper wire is used as its winding.
Core has two sides primary and secondary side.
If it is step down transformer its primary side has greater number of turns of winding then Secondary.
and if it step up transformer, number of turns on primary side is less then secondary.
In both side of transformer total power remains constant that is IV (current*voltage).

We have a formula to calculate number of turns
                            Vp/Vs  =Np/Ns
Vp is primary voltage
Vs is secondary voltage
Ns is number of secondary turns
Np is number of primary turns

Example of Step up transformer:-   Inverter which step up voltage    form 12 V to 220V Ac which is used in UPS(uninterrupted power supply)

Example of Step down transformer:-  5V DC power supply, in this power supply we have to convert 220V ac to 5V ac by step down transformer then by using bridge rectifier we can convert it in to dc

What is Diode?

It has two parts anode and cathde, anode is positive side and cathode is negative side.
Diode is like a valve, it starts conducting when it is in forward biased and stops when it is in reverse biased
now what is forward and reverse biased
farward biased means when anode is at higher potential and cathode is at lover potential like +5V at anode and -ive5V ,0V or 1V   any value less then +5V, in reverse biased anode is at lower potentential and cathode.
it has voltage drop of 0.7 volt.

AC and DC

AC
means Alternating current that is it changes its polarity from positive voltage to negative voltage like ifwe have 220V AC then it changes from +ive220  and -ive=220
this changing of polarity has fix rate that is know as frequency it may be 50Hz or 60hz
Ac may be three phase or single phase
DC
means direct current, has two fixed polarities +ive and -ive, cannot change its polarity thats why it has no frequency i.e f=0Hz

Simple Message in C++

Today i am going to teach you how to print a simple program in C++
before that i give you intro of some basic commands

  • cout<<      is used for output
  • cin>>        is used for input
  • "your message"         any string is placed in between commas
  • main()                    its a main body to any program where code is written
  • #include           is a library should be added for input and output from the program
here a simple program to print Hello world as a message

#include<iostream.h>
void main()
{
   cout<<"hello worls";
}
